Welcome to my research site

I work as a full professor at the Control Systems Group of the Eindhoven University of Technology and I am a senior researcher at the Systems and Control Laboratory in the Institute for Computer Science and Control in Budapest, Hungary. On of the main focuses of my research interest is on identification and control of physical/chemical systems based on the concept of Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) models. These models can be imagined as an intermediate step between the well understood framework of Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) systems and the vast universe of nonlinear and time-varying phenomena we experience in practice.  I would like to bring LPV systems to practical use, therefore I am currently involved in research projects from theoretical investigations of hardcore issues of the LPV system theory to practical identification and control of industrial applications. Besides the LPV framework, I also work on

  • Data-driven modelling of nonlinear/linear systems
  • Machine learning based modelling and control
  • Direct controlled system synthesis
